How We Became CCWA

Hi, I’m Jaclyn. If you have known me for a while, you may call me Jackie! I am the founder and creator of Carolina Counseling Wellness Associates (CCWA).

I worked in trauma recovery and domestic violence advocacy for around a decade before moving to North Carolina.

How We Became CCWACounseling Wellness

After having a difficult time finding an office designed to provide mental health care for my practice, I began my mission to create one. I wanted to offer a place for the community that would be here to stay, with roots, and also offer a place for other therapists to practice as well.

Being a long-time lover of design and HGTV projects and seeing hard things as a challenge, I began searching for the property and found one within three days! It was a fixer-upper and just the right amount of space for the mission.

We Are Stronger Together

With early morning paint projects, flooring installs, and custom touches, a relaxing and healing space was created with soothing lights and a waterfall in the waiting area. The feeling of “ahhh” when you walked in was found, and we opened for patient care in 2016.

A few years later, after the need for more care grew beyond our capacity, I felt called to find a second property to continue increasing care in the community of mental health.
We Are Stronger Together

This one was in the Triad area of North Carolina, in High Point, a sweet little town tucked right next to Greensboro. The space was just the right amount of mess for the mission.

Within a few months of painting and renovation projects, a little help from the community (thank you Robin), and my two daughters, who were often there for a design project or a moving furniture “adventure.”

Our second Center opened in the summer of 2022.
