Our Story

Fall of 2016
CCWA was founded - Research Triangle Park, Apex, NC
After working in domestic violence, trauma recovery, and substance use programs for around a decade, Jaclyn learned through experience that there was a greater need for more preventative mental health care services.

Seeking an office for the first CCWA location became a challenge of a lifetime, as she found herself working on commercial renovation projects to create a relaxing, beautiful space for people to come for their mental health care appointments.

It was an HGTV-inspired project. Often with her two daughters along to help. Jaclyn spent her days ripping out old carpet, updating lighting, and painting during early mornings, bringing the colors and feelings of ... ahhh, when you walk in. The project was completed in 2016.

CCWA came to the Triad of NC!
A dream grew to expand and create another space, which became a project rooted in community. It was finished just in time for our open house, with the help of Robin, the magical painter. Jaclyn, who had become known as the “zen” designer, needed help to grow this branch of our tree. Our team lead, Jocelyn Ford, came on board just in time and became the heart of our space, growing our garden and tending to the waterfall fountain and plants throughout the space. (We love our plants at CCWA).

Our Triad office is tucked between Greensboro and Winston-Salem, in High Point, close to many college campuses and across from a park. It features a tree-lined back parking area, offering a sense of privacy for our clients. We brought on additional mental health care providers, each with their own specialty.

Telehealth options became our new best friend!
At CCWA, you have the option of telehealth visits or in-person appointments, allowing you to meet with your provider from the comfort of your home or office, or in one of our welcoming spaces.

We transitioned from our Apex location in 2025, sharing our former space with our friends at Whole Brain Solutions, who acquired the location to continue offering mental health services in the area while we expanded our roots across the state.

CCWA comes to Clayton NC!
Our growing vision expanded again in the spring of 2026, as Alexis Wells began her branch of our practice at her office location in Clayton, North Carolina, while Alexis is also serving as a statewide virtual provider.

There has been a whisper of another CCWA location coming to the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Come back soon to follow along as we continue to grow our mission to offer preventative mental health services in a setting that helps you feel comfortable and supported.
