I enjoy helping people connect back to who they are and what brings them joy in life. In this fast-paced world with an endless list of demands and responsibilities we sometimes feel we are being pulled in so many different directions that we can’t keep up. With so much attention focused on work, our relationships, parenting etc. we often lose sight of what we want in life. Sometimes we find that we are merely going through the motions and missing out on the meaningful connections with the people that we love.
I will help you learn to slow down, be present and take better care of your mind and body. We will examine the different domains in your life and think about what’s going well, what you would like more of and things that you might change if this is possible.
My specialties include treating maternal mental health, depression, anxiety, panic attacks and assisting people through difficult life circumstances such as divorce, being a caregiver to someone who is chronically ill, becoming a parent, grief and loss and dealing with family conflict.
As a therapist, I like to keep it real. I am always professional and sensitive but you will find that I am also able to appropriately use humor in session to help you feel comfortable.
During treatment I keep track of metrics. I use tools to track your symptoms so that we know where you started and how you are progressing through therapy.
I will show you support, validate and normalize your feelings and provide a safe environment in therapy. Yet I don’t shy away from giving direct feedback and ideas, or challenging a thought or belief that might be getting in the way of progress.
